The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator has all the features you'd expect from a refrigerator within this price range. It has Wi-Fi as well as app support and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app is compatible with iOS and Android devices and lets you control your refrigerator from any place around the world. It also comes with numerous options for customizing. It also gives you notifications when a door is left open, when your fridge or freezer is in need of defrosting, and when it's time to change the filter. It would be nice if GE PYE22PYNFS came with Precise Fill which is an option that is available in a handful of other GE fridges that allows you to choose how many cups of water you'd like to dispense simultaneously. The Ice maker we tested is one of the most efficient and produces an ice pyramid with only a little water. This fridge is perfect for a single household or kitchenette that needs an elegant design and top of the highest quality food preservation. The fridge was rated the best refrigerator in our Refrigerators test for several reasons. The freezer temperatures remained steady at a level that was just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit and never fluctuating more than a fraction of one degree. This is crucial in preventing freezer burn. The fridge's fridge section also performed well, achieving the desired initial set temperature within an hour and keeping that temperature steady over the course of our testing. One of the best aspects of this refrigerator is that the ice maker is in the freezer, which makes it easy to transfer the ice to the refrigerator to be used when it is needed. The refrigerator took longer to defrost food and chill it than the other fridges we tested. This is likely due to its greater capacity. The doors pose a problem with this fridge. They have handles that are sunken at the front, which allows shorter people to easily open them from the bottom, but they're not easy for taller people to guide closed without slamming them. It would have been much better if they had front-mounted handles. The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is a great choice for those who want to combine the aesthetics of a French-door refrigerator with a more efficient design. It has a capacity that is superior to counter-depth models, and it cools evenly. It's also a little cheaper than the best counter-depth refrigerator that has an ice maker, which helps make it a desirable choice. Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a great choice if you want a French-door fridge that won't break the budget. It has a simple design that isn't as striking in appearance as some of the competition however it comes with enough features to make it a solid pick. Its most notable characteristic is the adjustable temperature drawer which helps keep food items like meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge water and ice maker dispenser. The “Chill Drawer”, which is located over the two crisper bins, is another excellent feature. This feature is adjustable using a slider on the outside of the drawer. You can also alter the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I have found that the general settings are more effective than the specific ones. In my tests, the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent across all areas of the fridge. Temperatures at the top and bottom of the fridge didn't stray very far from 38 degrees, and the middle of the fridge was within a degree of 36. This is a solid performance, but doesn't quite make it to the top of our ratings. This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also combine this fridge with an intelligent thermometer to get more precise measurements of the internal temperature of your fridge. The exterior of the Frigidaire is made of gray-bodied stainless with a “smudge proof” finish. It is capable of removing streaks and fingerprints even when compared with shiny stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tested.
